Thistle - Scottish symbol

Legend teach us how the thistle, scottish symbol, saved the country in the Middle Ages, when the Scots and Norsemen were at war. Under cover of darkness, the Norsemen managed to land unobserved on the coast of Scotland. Removing their boots, they crept on bare feet toward the unsuspecting Scottish army. The Norse soldiers had stepped on the thistles. A sharp cry of pain alerted sleeping Scots. The Scots defeated Norsemen. In gratitude, the plant became known as the Guardian Thistle and was adopted as the symbol of Scotland.

The thistle is perhaps the most important symbols of many Scottish things. We can buy various gifts, jewellery, souvenirs.
